Dave Sperry is the coordinator of the Outdoor Adventure Leadership Minor and Director of the Venture Program. Mr. Sperry also teaches a wide variety of courses in the Applied Physiology, Health and Clinical Sciences Department. His area of expertise is experiential education and outdoor adventure leadership in which he holds many certifications from organizations such as the American Canoe Association, American Mountain Guides Association, Professional Climbing Instructors Association, Wilderness Education Association and American Red Cross. He instructs Introduction to Outdoor Adventures, Theory and Foundations of Outdoor Adventure Leadership, Rock Climbing Management, Wilderness Trip Leading, Kayaking and others. In addition, Mr. Sperry also instructs wilderness first aid and conducts certification courses in whitewater instruction, climbing instruction and swiftwater rescue. In Mr. Sperry’s role as Director of Venture, he coordinates outdoor adventure programs designed to develop leadership and teamwork.
