Why Outdoor Adventure Leadership?
UNC Charlotte’s Minor in Outdoor Adventure Leadership equips students with the skills, knowledge and experience to lead in the world of outdoor education and recreation. Designed to complement any major, the 18-credit program blends classroom learning with hands-on experiences in wilderness trip leading, challenge course facilitation, and more. Students build leadership confidence through immersive fieldwork, electives, and a capstone practicum. Offered through the Department of Applied Physiology, Health and Clinical Sciences, this program prepares students for careers in adventure programming, parks and recreation, or nonprofit leadership—wherever the trail may lead.
Why NUTRITION?
UNC Charlotte’s Undergraduate Certificate in Nutrition offers students practical, science-based knowledge about the role of nutrition in health, performance and disease prevention. Open to all majors, this 15-credit certificate prepares students for careers in fitness, wellness and sports performance—complementing degrees in fields like Exercise Science and Health Sciences. Through courses in applied nutrition, medical terminology and weight management, students gain real-world insight into how food and behavior impact the body. The certificate includes elective options in global food systems or hands-on internship experience. While not designed for those seeking Registered Dietitian licensure, this program provides a valuable foundation for anyone passionate about health and nutrition.
Why Sports Analytics?
UNC Charlotte proudly introduces the first Bachelor of Science in Sports Analytics in the Carolinas — and the Southeast — launching this fall. Building on the success of its undergraduate certificate in Sports Analytics, this cutting-edge program equips students with advanced skills in predictive analysis, data visualization, and sports-specific applications. Graduates will be prepared for careers in the fast-growing field of sports analytics. The B.S. in Sports Analytics offers a highly marketable STEM degree with unparalleled hands-on opportunities. Students will engage in real-world applications through collaborations with Charlotte’s Division I Athletics and professional sports organizations such as the Carolina Panthers, Carolina Hurricanes, and Charlotte FC.
