Teaching and Professional Experience:
Prior to her appointment at UNC Charlotte, Dr. Bonoffski was employed as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist in cardiac rehabilitation and as a Nutrition and Diabetes Educator. She has also worked as a dietitian for NASCAR and continues to consult with teams and active individuals, providing expertise in nutrition. As a licensed dietitian in the Charlotte area, she has worked with numerous athletes and has given numerous presentations at the regional, national and international level. As a senior lecturer in the department, Dr. Bonoffski teaches courses in exercise science, health, and nutrition.
Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Bonoffski earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science from Cornell University, where she also competed on the varsity swim team. She also holds a Master’s degree in Health and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University and a Doctorate (EdD) in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Dr. Bonoffski is a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and a Certified Sports Nutrition Specialist (CSSD). She is also credentialed as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and serves on the ACSM Certification and Registry Board Executive Committee.
